Our story

Samaritan House was born from a deep calling in the heart. Observing the challenges women face during critical moments of change, the desire arose to accompany those going through any type of transition and in need of steady support. Under our parent organization, Path to Restoration, we created this space so that no woman has to walk alone toward her recovery. We are not just a shelter; we are the bridge to your new life.

Our mission

Our mission is to accompany women through their transition process, providing a safe and compassionate environment where they can restore their identity and strengthen their path toward sobriety and independence.

What makes us different

What sets Samaritan House apart is our core philosophy of accompaniment. Unlike traditional transitional housing, we combine a warm, family-like environment with modern accountability tools—such as digital attendance tracking for meetings and real-time location sharing. We believe that 'Your Story Matters,' so we provide a tailored path for each woman, ensuring she is not just housed, but truly restored. We offer a bilingual, safe, and structured bridge to independence.

You don't have to walk alone

At Samaritan House, your story matters, and we accompany you with love and structure so you can reclaim not just your sobriety, but your dignity. We are here to provide a safe and structured environment for women in Chicago, Illinois, seeking to rebuild their lives.

"At Samaritan House, I found not just a place to stay, but a community that believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself. They helped me reclaim my life and my dignity."
